Deep-water sinkholes and bioherms of south Florida and the Pourtalès Terrace - habitat and fauna.

–Exploration by manned submersibles of the Jordan and Marathon sinkholes in the Straits of Florida revealed concentrations of dugongid rib fragments (Metaxytherium floridanum?) at depths of 357-366 m and 522 m, respectively (275, 281), as well as elsewhere on the Pourtalès Terrace (287).
