The breathing pattern of the dugong.

–Reports observations of a captive Australian dugong at Cairns Oceanarium. Its longest recorded dive lasted 8 min. 26 sec.; the average dive, 3 min. 1 sec. Forward progress was maintained during breathing, and a rhythmic pattern of breaths was noted.
